GREG SCHAEFER President
Greg Schaefer has been NCC’s President since January 1, 2004. He joined the company in November 2002 as Chief Operating Officer bringing with him more than 25 years of experience in broadcast advertising sales on both the station and representation sides.
Greg started his career as a Media Buyer at Ted Bates & Co. but soon made the move to the sales side by becoming an Account Executive for Telerep in 1978. In 1982 he joined Westinghouse Broadcasting as an Account Executive for Group W Television Sales and launched a very successful 19 year career with the media giant. He worked his way up the corporate ladder, first to Sales Manager in 1985 then Vice President, New York Manager in 1988 followed by Vice President, Director of Operations in 1993. When Westinghouse purchased CBS in 1995, Greg was elevated to Executive Vice President, CBS Television Sales where he was responsible for strategic planning and pricing for 16 CBS-owned television stations while integrating two national rep firms into one. In 1997 he became Director of Sales for WCBS-TV and was charged with converting the original CBS station to Group W systems. After the company merged with Viacom, Greg took on the role of President, Viacom Station Sales, where he directed the sales and marketing efforts for 35 O&Os. Finally, in 2002 Greg became Vice President, Station Manager for WCBS-TV before making the move to NCC later that year.
